Bo (also known as Bo Town) is the second most populated city in Sierra Leone outside of Freetown. Bo means ‘light’ in the Mende language and is located in the center of the country in the Southern Province. Bo is the base of Freedom Tree activities in Sierra Leone due to its central location and it is where our very first project began.
When Freedom Tree works in a village, we measure development in each of the five pillars. The more we engage the community, the higher the scores, which results in reduction of maternal and infant mortality.
Sponsor a village, sponsor a project.
