Community Forum Woman with Baby, Bumpeh Peri Bumpeh Peri
Bumpeh Peri is a large and more advanced community with a population of 5000 people. It is located in the Southern part of the country, about 90km from Bo. They have electric solar-powered lights and a very large birthing clinic funded by World Vision, as well as a school and other resources. Freedom Tree has been active in this community since July 2013, engaging in forums to shift some of the mindsets that contribute to the high levels of mortality here, despite access to good resources.

The Five Pillar Approach

When Freedom Tree works in a village, we measure development in each of the five pillars. The more we engage the community, the higher the scores, which results in reduction of maternal and infant mortality.
