Njala is part of the Kpejebongre Chiefdom in Kailahun, near the Liberian border. Freedom Tree activities in this community began in March 2015 due to the effects of Ebola on this community. This village loves to dance and sing and Freedom Tree hopes to continue building relationship with them. They were overjoyed to have received help during the Ebola outbreak, claiming our aid helped to save many lives.
When Freedom Tree works in a village, we measure development in each of the five pillars. The more we engage the community, the higher the scores, which results in reduction of maternal and infant mortality.
