Pujehun, Kailahun

Pujehun is located in Kailahun, in the Jawai Chiefdom, very close to the Liberian border in the East of the country. Freedom Tree activities in this village began in February 2015. The effects of Ebola in this village were devastating and as a result, Freedom Tree is currently building a birthing clinic in this community to aid the little access women in this community have to that commodity. The village is a far drive from Bo, but Freedom Tree hopes to develop strong relationships here with continued engagement and cooperation, especially following the completion of the birthing clinic.

The Five Pillar Approach

When Freedom Tree works in a village, we measure development in each of the five pillars. The more we engage the community, the higher the scores, which results in reduction of maternal and infant mortality.
