Something amazing is happening, and I have to share it with you!
Recently, we held our very first Girls Advocacy Movement (GAM) session with the girls at Every Nation and Matilda Simbo School—and it was nothing short of incredible. Seeing these young girls come together, eager to learn, ask questions, and grow, was a powerful reminder of why Freedom Tree exists.
Why GAM Matters
Every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, to dream, and to build a future filled with possibility. But in Sierra Leone, too many girls face barriers to education—poverty, early marriage, and a lack of resources often stand in their way. GAM was created to change that story by providing girls with the knowledge, mentorship, and support they need to succeed.
When we invest in girls, we invest in generations of change. Education is more than just reading and writing—it’s freedom. It gives girls the power to break cycles of poverty, advocate for themselves, and become leaders in their communities.
Introducing BAM: The Boys Advocacy Movement
But we’re not stopping with the girls. We know that true change happens when entire communities are empowered, and that’s why we’re also launching BAM – the Boys Advocacy Movement. BAM equips young boys with the values of respect, leadership, and responsibility, teaching them how to be allies in the fight for equality and opportunity.
By educating both boys and girls, we are creating a future where everyone has the chance to thrive.
This Is Just the Beginning
We are so grateful to God for making these programs a success, and we know this is just the start. With each session, we are shaping a brighter future for these children—and for Sierra Leone as a whole.
But we can’t do this alone. Your support makes all the difference. Whether it’s through sponsorship, donations, or spreading the word, you are a part of this movement.
Let’s make education accessible for all. Let’s empower the next generation. Let’s bring freedom to every child.
